  • Archaeology Trace: Prehistoric Evident in Tanjung Sawah Padang Laweh-Malalo

The exploration of megalithic remains in Jorong Tanjung Sawah, Nagari Padang Laweh Malalo, Tanah Datar Regency, has revealed new insights into the region’s archaeological wealth.

In the initial stage, the team identified several significant remains, including ancient graves, stone boundary markers, mortars, stone road structures, and traditional rumah gadang houses with unique architecture. These findings highlight the close relationship between traditional community life and the preserved cultural landscape. The survey continues, as many remains hold strong potential to be designated as cultural heritage sites. With proper management, the area could be developed into a historical tourism destination that not only strengthens local identity but also contributes economically to the community. The Tanah Datar Regency Government is expected to use these findings as a foundation for preservation and development planning, ensuring that the megalithic heritage of Tanjung Sawah becomes both a cultural pride and a source of knowledge for future generations. The research has been start frecuantly from 2018, 2023, 2024 and last in 2025 held in coorporate research with Archaeology Program Studies Andalas University.

  • Greeting

Welcome to the Unit of the Radjo Radjo Aur Duri Foundation, a cultural institution dedicated to the preservation, research, and development of Minangkabau heritage through academic inquiry and creative production. This organization serves as a collaborative platform for scholars, artists, and communities to revitalize local cultural values through modern media. The foundation’s structure is divided into two interconnected main units, each complementing the other in fulfilling its mission.

    1. Jago Pusako Budayo Unit (Research)

This unit serves as a center for knowledge development and cultural documentation. Within it operates the GLAM system (Gallery, Library, Archive, Museum), which forms the foundation of research and preservation activities. The unit produces data, knowledge, and documentation that serve as the basis for developing cultural products in the production unit. In line with this mission, the unit is supported by four sub-units that implement the established system: Jago Pusako Gallery, Jago Pusako Library, Jago Pusako Archive, and Jago Pusako Museum.

Jago Pusako Coffee / CafƩ functions as a social interaction space as well as a creative economy hub that supports GLAM activities. Beyond serving as a gathering and discussion venue for communities, academics, and artists, the cafƩ also plays a role in strengthening community networks and incubating creative ideas. Through small exhibitions, public discussions, and the sale of cultural products, the cafƩ not only enriches the visitor experience but also provides an additional source of income that sustains the operational continuity of the Foundation.

    2. Unit EUPro (Produksi)

EUPro is an autonomous body under the Radjo-Radjo Aur Duri Foundation, serving as a driving force for creative economy initiatives while simultaneously preserving Minangkabau history. Based on research conducted by Jago Pusako Budayo, EUPro develops three main pillars: cultural craft products (Heritage & Woome), experiential programs (Rise of Minangkabau), and visual literacy through Eupro Chronicles. With its headquarters at Jago Pusako CafƩ, EUPro integrates research, production, and distribution to create a sustainable cultural ecosystem. Its primary goals are to achieve financial independence, strengthen cultural identity, and support the Foundation through financial contributions and public education programs.
